Walsall Together has been shortlisted in this year’s Municipal Journal (MJ) Achievement Awards in the Care and Health Integration category.

The MJ Local Government Achievement Awards have been held every year since 2004, acknowledging the effort of those in local government dedicating themselves to supporting local communities.

Walsall Council’s submission to the Care and Health Integration category, focused on the work of Walsall Together, recognising imagination and innovation in bringing together care and health services under one roof to the benefit of the user.   

Michelle McManus, Director for Integrated Place Based Development for Walsall Together, said: “We are extremely proud to have been shortlisted in the Municipal Journal Achievements Awards recognising the partnership innovative ways of integrating services to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes of Walsall citizens. This is testament to all the hard work and dedication shown by our teams across multiple organisations including the voluntary and community sector."

Walsall Council also features as a finalist in the Senior Leadership Team which recognises the vital role of the senior management team in a local authority and its impact on service provision, delivering outcomes for their community, and creating successful organisational change.

Each category is judged by influential commentators from the private and public sectors giving their organisation the chance to illustrate its ability, ingenuity and performance.    

The results of the awards will be announced at a ceremony held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge on Friday 21 June 2024.
