We want to ensure our citizens have equitable opportunities to share their views about the things that matter most to them and their health and wellbeing no matter who they are or where they live. This will be done, wherever possible, through co-design or co-production with citizens actively engaged in the planning and implementation of service design.

Our approach:

Community champion model: using individuals with lived experience to influence change, build understanding, and improve outcomes for others facing similar challenges.

Removing barriers: finding creative ways for citizens to share their views ensuring accessibility for all

Going to the citizens: interact with citizens in the place where they go day to day such as supermarkets, schools, workplaces and places of faith.

Recognising time: providing incentives for participation such as refreshments, acknowledgment, rewards or opportunities for personal and professional development.

Taking action: use intelligence and expertise to enable fair and informed decision making, moving away from ‘done to’ to ‘doing with’.

Saying how things have change: tell people what has changed or why it hasn’t, reflect on feedback, and ask how we can improve for next time.
