Over 100 people attended the Walsall Together Roadshows in April and May to celebrate the launch of the partnership’s new strategy 'Collaborating for happer communities'.

Building on the original 2019 ambition, the strategy sets out how the partnership wants to continue to stand out from the crowd, delivering key programmes of work, led by its vision and insight into the local population and their needs.

Michelle McManus, Director of Transformation and Place Development for Walsall Together, said: “I am so incredibly proud of all the work Walsall Together has done since it was established to join up services, provide care in the community and support people to better manage their own health and wellbeing needs and live happier lives.

“The secret to our success is the strong relationships that have been built with a culture that defines the quality of integration, not the structure. We have continually worked on our governance arrangements in support of increased collaboration with all partners in the planning and design of local services. We have also coproduced our wellbeing outcomes framework, which will support outcomes-based commissioning and demonstrate the value of preventative care.”

“I’m excited that we now have a really impressive strategy that further supports this way of working and drives us to be bolder and braver than ever, allowing us to push the boundaries and drive significant and meaningful change.”

The strategy sets out a number of commitments for delivering the partnerships model of health, care and wellbeing as well as other cross cutting themes and priorities include putting children first, living and ageing well and Mental Health and Learning Disabilities & Autism (LDA).
