Representatives from the partnership joined in discussions on delivering effective place-based care at a recent conference hosted by The Kings Fund.
The event provided an opportunity to discuss how effectively place-based care is being delivered across the health and care system. The focus was around the communities and their contributions, how place-based partnerships such as Walsall Together are evolving, and whether more needs to be done to involve places and communities in developing local approaches to reducing health inequalities.
Helen Billings, Head of Partnerships and Development for Walsall Together joined Paul Gordon, Director of Resilient Communities at Walsall Council, to talk about the strength of our communities in Walsall and how we are working collaboratively to build on this to transform services, improve wellbeing and prevent poor outcomes.
Helen said: “What is really important is harnessing the creativity and working with the enthusiasts and experts in communities”.
Paul added: ““The most crucial element is trust. If you successfully build that trust great things happen. Often small amounts of support and investment are all that are key to making things happen”.
